Huawei’s Growth – Samsung and Apple’s Concern??

Huawei Mate 20 Pro

Huawei’s consumer business CEO Yu Chengdong announced in January about the total shipments of Huawei’s mobile phones in 2018 were about 206 million units. Huawei’s share increased to a new high of 12% due to the record sales of the high-end mobile phones in the price range of more than 600 US dollars.

In 2018 Huawei’s growth reached about 34% compared to the 2017 annual report of 153 million units of shipment data. This is a great achievement in a global environment where smartphone competition is intensifying as more and more brands are joining day by day and making it more and tough to sustain in the business.

The latest news reveals Huawei has set the target of 250 million units in 2019, which is about 21% annual growth. Further, in 2020, the company will be targeting for 300 million units.

IDC Quarterly Sales Data

According to IDC statistics, Samsung’s and Apple shipments fell 8% to 292 million units and 3.2% to 208 million units in 2018 respectively. Looking at the above data Huawei gains an upper hand and has a good chance to beat Samsung and take over the throne of global smartphones at the end of 2019.

Undoubtedly higher sales from Huawei is on the cards looking at the smartphone trends and potential shown from the company. Let us see how the company will maintain the growth and sustain the people in a long run.
